A British-based software company called “Arm” is busy working on a smart microchip that can be woven into clothing and detect body odor with the use of AI. The chip will be comprised of at least 8 sensors that can detect chemicals present in the air, then analyse those chemicals and determine the smell they create. The chip will then determine how pungent the smell is from a scale of 1 to 5. The tech isn’t new, but Arm is in the process of finding ways to make it cheaper to mass-produce. If successful, this project could smell of profits for Arm. Read the full story here: https://qz.com/1503888/ai-is-learning-to-smell-your-armpits-to-warn-you-when-you-have-bo/
