A recent study by venture capital firm MMC Ventures found that a whopping 40% of all “AI startups” in Europe actually aren’t involved in AI.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, thanks to huge demand for AI applications along with the growing pool of investors who want to cash in on the “AI revolution.” Of course, this isn’t unique to the AI field. Nearly every new tech development has had its share of hype, along with people who want to exploit it and get a piece of the investor-money pie, much like the data science trend from just 5 years ago.
It doesn’t help that many people on either side of the startup fence (investor and entrepreneur alike), don’t have a firm grasp of AI. Even so, the massive potential to generate more job and income opportunities still remains.
